Miles Behan Edinburgh Cardiologist


Dr Behan trained in medicine at St Andrews and Cambridge University. Following his junior doctor training he completed his MD thesis on myocardial infarctions. He did his cardiology training at ST Thomas’ Hospital, London and a fellowship in Australia.

He was appointed as Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 2011. His specialist interest is intervention (stents) but he is trained in all aspects of cardiology.

Dr Behan is recognised by the major insurance companies.

Dr Behan has published widely on cardiology and has lectured all over the world. He is involved in training nationally and internationally.


Medicolegal Experience

I have provided Expert Witness reports as a cardiologist for the last 5 years. I attended the Bond Solon “Excellence in Report Writing” and “Expert Witness” courses in 2015. I presented on the Medico-legal Management/ Ampersand Advocates Clinical Negligence Course at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, October 2014: “Misdiagnosis of a heart attack, delay in adequate treatment of high blood pressure and failure to manage arrhythmia appropriately.”
